Motorcycle Safety

As a responsible motorcyclist it is our responsibility to know the safety rules and guidelines. We need to be the ones that are alert and should take great care when riding. Motorcycles

  do not offer the driver much safety as they do not come equipped with airbags, safety-belts or even any sort of metal box around us.

Taking these things into consideration, what is the best safety guidelines we should follow? The first and one of the most important is use of a helmet.

Although many states and countries do not require helmets to be worn, why would you take the risk? Wearing a certified motorcycle helmet is the same as wearing your cars seatbelt.

When you are driving your motorcycle on an open road where there are other vehicles, use caution. Many drivers have blind spots and do not see you the motorcyclist. Be sure to use your signals, and be sure to keep your headlight on. Make extra efforts to ensure the other drivers on the road see you.

That leads us to another key safety tip, be sure your directionals, and all headlights, are in full working order. To be doubly cautions, when making a turn or changing lanes, use hand signals as well as your directionals.
