The General Manger of BMW wanted to keep with their superior reputation and decided they would build their own motorcycles using the Boxer Engine.
His concept motorcycle was ready by the end of 1922. There were other horizontally opposed engines that had already made it to the marketplace; however BMW combined the Boxer along with a drive shaft and with a transverse configuration.
Upon its debut in 1923 the BMW motorcycle received very high accolades and praise for the unique concept both technically and the appearance. This model was called the R32 and it was at that time the costliest motorcycle on the market.
From that point on the BMW motorcycle and has show continuous development. The BMW’s Boxer to this day is one of the only machines that are always in great demand. With all the models they have all continued to set the standards in the marketing sections.
